저 언덕에는 어리석은 미소를 지으며
혼자서 하루하루를 보내는 바보가
바깥 세상과 아주 떨어져 살아가지
하지만 아무도 그를 알고 싶어 하지 않아
그가 바보일 뿐이라는 걸 아니까 말이야
그 바보도 역시 대답을 하지 않아

하지만 그 언덕에 사는 바보는
저물어 가는 태양을 바라보고
머리 속의 눈으로는
돌아가는 세상을 바라 보고 있어

그 와중에 그는 환상에 빠져
수 천명이 말하듯
크게 떠들어 대지만
그가 말하는 것 같은 소리나
그의 말은 아무에게도 들리지 않아
그런데도 그는 전혀 눈치를 못채지

하지만 그 언덕에 사는 바보는
저물어 가는 태양을 바라보고
머리 속의 눈으로는
돌아가는 세상을 바라 보고 있어

그를 좋아하는 사람은 전혀 없어 보이고
그의 속셈을 다들 알고 있지만
그는 절대 속내를 드러내지 않아

하지만 그 언덕에 사는 바보는
저물어 가는 태양을 바라보고
머리 속의 눈으로는
돌아가는 세상을 바라 보고 있어

아무도 그를 알고 싶어 하지 않아
그가 바보라는 걸 모두 아니까 말이야
그 바보처럼 사람들도 그를 원치 않아
다들 바보라고 부르는 걸 모르는 걸까
